Discover ZNO+

The Next Generation of Zinc Oxide Sunscreen

We didn’t create zinc oxide. We reinvented it, so you’ll actually want to wear it every day.

Mineral sunscreens have long been a go-to recommendation for dermatologists and plastic surgeons alike, especially for more sensitive skin types. But for too many of us, they’ve also been the reason we skip sunscreen altogether (let alone top it up throughout the day).

That’s why we’re introducing the ZnO+ Mineral Care™ Collection, the next-generation of zinc oxide sunscreen.

What makes ZnO+ different?

Driven by clinical research, our ZnO+ Mineral Care Complex+™ delivers UV-protection without compromising on performance.

At the core of all SunsolveMD sunscreens, our proprietary technology not only shields the skin againstUV radiation, but offersclinically-tested actives including antioxidants, humectants and light-activated enzymes, providing formulations that go beyond UV defense. We offer broad-spectrum(PA++++) mineral sunscreen with an elegant, weightless texture and finish, blending seamlessly into your skincare routine while caring for your skin as it protects.

 Why zinc oxide?

A deep dive into the technology

Zinc oxide is a globally approved UV filter and contains a GRASE (generally recognized as safe and effective) status by the US FDA. Zinc oxide can protect against both UVA and UVB rays in sunscreen formulations, and is elevated by skin-soothing benefits. But even good things come with caveats. In our case, the challenge was making it lightweight and more breathable in sunscreen formulations.

Micronization is what makes it possible. We’ve carefully refined zinc oxide to a micronized size scale that's small enough to be lightweight and texturally elegant when applied to the skin, while remaining efficacious for absorbing as much UV radiation as possible.

More than just sun protection

Our formulas go beyond traditional sunscreen standards. We believe scientifically-advanced sun protection should be both protective and retroactive. That’s why our complex blends a curated selection of actives formulated to provide multifunctionality against visible sun damage, addressing skin concerns, and protecting against future harm:

Phytoplankton Extract

A revolutionary marine extract which contains light-activated enzymes known to repair damage caused by UV radiation.

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)

A multitasking vitamin with numerous skin benefits, such as enhancing the skin's barrier function by and reducing transepidermal water loss.

Hyaluronic Acid

A powerful humectant that draws in water, hydrates and plumps the skin, and strengthens the skin barrier.

Bisabolol

A soothing botanical extract derived from chamomile that calms irritation and reduces redness.

Allantoin

A gentle, skin-conditioning ingredient that soothes, softens and hydrates the skin, promoting a calm and smooth complexion.

These actives work deep within the skin, targeting both the epidermis (outer layer of the skin) and the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ): the foundation of your skin’s structure. The DEJ, in particular, is home to essential proteins like collagen, responsible for smoothness and firmness, and is particularly vulnerable to degradation from UV exposure.

It also plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the skin, anchoring the epidermis to the dermis and facilitating the exchange of oxygen and nutrients between the two layers. In the context of sun protection, the DEJ is where melanocytes (which produce melanin, your skin’s pigment) and keratinocytes interface, helping the skin defend itself against UV damage. It’s why our ZnO+ Complex was designed to go beyond SPF, and towards supporting your skin’s structure and natural rhythm.

From texture to technology, every detail of our ZnO+ Complex was designed to change the way you think about and experience mineral sunscreen. Explore the ZnO+ Mineral Care collection and experience SPF redefined.
